Wellington Museums Trust staff planting, Wellington Town Belt

Work place planting initiative

Staff from the Wellington Museums Trust help Wellington City Council parks staff plant 1500 native trees at Bell Road. The new planting replaces hazardous pines that had been removed last summer.

Trust CEO, John Gilberthorpe, who is a founding member of Friends of Wellington Town Belt, says the planting was part of a good citizenship and environmental awareness staff programme at the Trust.
